On-Demand course
In this self-directed course, dating and relationships expert Rachel New will guide you through a wealth of teaching videos, assessments, reflective and creative tasks to help you understand yourself better so that you can date in a healthy, empowered way.
This course is perfect for you if you're new to dating, coming back to dating after a break, or want to change the way you date.
Who is Rachel?
Rachel New is a dating and relationships coach and educator in London, UK. Drawing on her work in research at the University of Oxford, Rachel has a very evidence-based approach, using published scientific research to inform her advice. She encourages ethical and healthy dating – treating others well and looking after yourself and using a mindful approach. Rachel has training in counselling, mindfulness and couples therapy.
What will I get out of the course?
You'll be exploring your beliefs, thoughts, emotions and patterns of behaviour that often originate in childhood and past relationships, and figuring out how those affect your dating and the way to relate to others. Perhaps you have thoughts such as "There must be something wrong with me", you back off after a date, or get too emotionally involved too fast.
Using mindfulness, self-compassion and CBT approaches, you'll learn how to make sense of your anxieties, fears, insecurities or pessimism about dating, and how to accept yourself and gain in confidence about how you come across on a date.
You'll learn to celebrate yourself and the rich tapestry of experiences and influences that make you who you are, without comparing yourself to others.
All of this will enable you to become more resilient to the ups and downs of dating, and know how to make sense of setbacks.
How will the course change the way I date and relate to others?
By the end of the course, you'll be able to say what you like about yourself, what you want from dating, and what you deserve. You'll have a range of tools to address those emotional responses and challenge unhelpful thoughts, and to recognise what's going on when you behave in ways that get in the way of your dating.
Then you'll be more motivated to date, able to enjoy your dating more, date the right people, know when it's right to go on another date with someone, and see yourself as an empowered, equal partner on a date.
Who is the course for?
This course is suitable for all ages, genders and preferences.
How much does the course cost?
It's £40 (plus a small transaction fee) or you can pay £70 for the course PLUS a 45 min consultation with Rachel to talk through any issues arising from the course that you want more support with.
What do others say about Rachel's coaching?
“Rachel is not just an expert who can help get you a date. She has helped me a develop a loving and intimate relationship with myself, to prepare me for developing valuable relationships with others. Rachel has helped me define moral boundaries within myself and taught me how to overcome stereotypes and anxieties I have had around women. The great thing about Rachel is that she helps you turn your weaknesses into strengths. Working with Rachel I have gone from being an extremely shy, repressed, introverted person into a very confident, popular young man who isn’t afraid to speak to women. Rachel doesn’t perform magic but she does perform miracles.” (Kamran, 34)
“For me, coaching with Rachel has been literally life-changing. When I first contacted Rachel I only expected to find out if dating was viable for someone as socially anxious as me and maybe a little help with my dating profile. What ended up happening transformed not just my beliefs about romantic relationships but about myself, emotions and all my other relationships. And throughout I have found her to be unceasingly gentle, patient and kind." (Nick, 29)
“Rachel has helped me work through my anxiety which was making me feel very negative towards dating and causing problems in other areas of my life. She has provided a really useful framework for understanding and dealing with anxiety, with lots of practical strategies and exercises. This is helping me feel stronger and more prepared, ready to face the rollercoaster that is dating with a more relaxed attitude.” (Moira, 35)
“Rachel is thoughtful, a wonderful listener and a great coach. I came to Rachel with some anxiety about dating and I came out with a boost to my confidence, self-awareness and resilience. I loved using meditation and the psychology background. With Rachel I have gained more clarity about how to set boundaries in dating and how to express my needs to the other person, and this has already benefited me in other areas of my life too, not just dating. I’m also more clear about what I’m looking for in a man and what type of relationship I desire. It was overall a great experience in terms of my personal development – I would definitely recommend Rachel. Thanks, Rachel, for having such a positive impact on my life :)” (Isabel, 49)
